Valerie Boucher is a writer and communications strategist from Ottawa, Ontario, with a decade of experience helping organizations craft clear, compelling narratives that engage and inform. Her work spans diverse sectors—including technology, public affairs, culture, health, and entertainment—where she has collaborated with organizations ranging from startups to established brands, helping them tell their story and inspire audiences.

 

Valerie's portfolio includes a wide array of writing projects, such as articles, web copy, blog posts, e-books and podcast/media content. Valerie has developed online course content for companies like Shopify and edited manuscripts including Stop Looking for Zebras by Robert Smith. She has also helped organizations craft internal communications content including stakeholder engagement materials, and strategic content for external audiences, including funding and sales proposals.

Her experience working with various agencies has equipped her with a unique perspective on both in-house and client writing.

Valerie has worked with clients on communications and content strategy, outreach letters, engagement campaigns, event logistics and media pitches, allowing her to deliver content that informs, persuades, and engages. This background allows her to understand client objectives and audience needs deeply, ensuring content is not only creative but also aligned with broader organizational goals.

 

Valerie studied Public Relations and Media & Communications at Algonquin College. Valerie is passionate about travel, meeting people and exploring local music and culture scenes. She’s volunteered with organizations including Ottawa Bluesfest, CityFolk and Canadian Music Week.  Her curiosity fuels her writing, allowing her to craft authentic stories that have impact.
